Royal Academy – Summer Exhibition 2014

boy bathing – shortlisted

This year artists were invited to a submit their work for the 2014 Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art by supplying digital images online.

The Academy limited the submissions to 12,000 and the judges then selected 4,000 to be delivered for further assessment. Artists who have been fortunate enough to be shortlisted at this stage are asked to deliver their work to the Academy for further appraisal by the judges and will be notified on 2nd May 2014 regarding the final selection.

Over several months, Andrew has been developing a series of sketches and paintings and he  submitted boy bathing – an oil on board – of a boy playing in the surf in the Caribbean,  which we dropped into the Academy yesterday for the next stage of judging.

Less than 1000 works will finally make it into this years show which will be the Academy’s 246th, due to open on 9th June.
