Andrew’s painting – boy bathing – has now reached the final stage of the 2014 Summer Exhibition selection process at the Royal Academy of Art.
All the works will be taken into the galleries where the Curators have a huge task ahead of them in arranging the final hang. During this process, they have to balance the pieces into a coherent display and, sadly, some of the works won’t make it onto the wall or into the exhibition space.
We now have to wait for the final notification which will be sent out to the contributors on May 22nd, 2014.
Update: Notification arrived 23rd stating, “Shortlisted- Not Hung”.
This has been an encouraging first attempt and hopefully he’ll have better luck next time.
In the meantime, a selection of Andrew Holmes still life works will be exhibiting over the June-July period with a well known Gallery just behind the Academy, in Cork Street.
